HELENA EVISON: MARKETING PORTFOLIO

WHO IS HELENA?
Hi! I'm Helena,'m 23, from the south coast and I have recently completed a bachelors of arts degree in Fashion Marketing and Branding (FMB) at Nottingham Trent University (NTU). After three busy and fulfilling years I am now entering a new phase within my career journey!
From my time studying marketing and branding and working on varied projects, including live briefs and event organisation, I discovered that my strengths lie in team work, effectively communicating with a range of people, discovering commercial opportunities, based on extensive research and developing a distinct brand identity.

As well as the academic side of my degree, I also enjoyed being involved in additional course initiatives. For example, I took a lead role in the final year degree show and I played an active role in planning and executing of the second year fashion show. In addition, I was given the role of presenting to lower cohorts within their lectures on how to prepare for the coming year and worked open days, where I was required to chat to prospective students about the opportunities NTU and my course offered to me. I believe all instances have been particularly instrumental in growing my confidence as a professional.

Outside of university I have interned at a high-end fashion wholesaler, Claret Showroom and I have worked a part time job along side my studies since the age of 16.

Overall, I believe my experience and studies have equipped me with the foundational skills and confidence to begin my career in marketing and branding, with an overall goal to work my way up in becoming a brand manager for a brand that I am passionate about. For me to be passionate about I have to adore the product or service they offer, their values must resonate with me and they would have to use their platform to make positive and impactful change.

Although I am starting my career in extremely uncertain times I am excited and hopeful about what the future holds. My fashion marketing and branding degree has instilled in me the importance of strategic innovations that solve genuine problems, something that couldn't be more crucial to society and businesses today.
PROJECT PORTFOLIO
My three years studying Fashion Marketing and Branding at Nottingham Trent University have challenged the way I think and pushed me to attain a new perspective when it comes to completing work and achieving objectives. The unique combination of strategic and creative briefs enabled me to develop my visual and tactical skills, particularly in terms of marketing and innovation.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
My diverse experience, in and outside of university, has allowed me to develop an extensive array of skills. The following examples highlight my key strengths.

Networking and Building Strong Relationships
Stage One and Stage Two were fundamental in developing my skills in effective communications. Specifically, in terms of networking and liaising with professional individuals.
During the main research exploration I arranged and conducted four industry expert interviews, two of which were in person and one over the phone. Interviewees included two marketing directors for two separate marketing agencies, a commercial manager for well known street-wear brand Stussy and a senior financial auditor for one of 'The Big Four Firms'.
For the concept testing process of the realisation project, three email interviews were conducted, interviewee's included a digital innovation director, a business consultant and a marketing executive for Gymshark.

I believe this has demonstrated my ability to effectively negotiate, communicate and co-ordinate meetings and activities with external professionals and it is something I will use within my professional career.

I am able to effectively optimise market and consumer research by identifying a specific consumer need which is not being met to develop an innovative yet viable business model.

MANAGING A POP-UP AT LONDON FASHION WEEKEND

A SALES ADVISOR FOR H&M
Working as a sales advisor for H&M for three years, one of which was full time, provided me with invaluable experience in working effectively in a team, at a fast pace.
