Creating my brand story

I'm at the point in my brand development where I need to come up with a story which reflects the direction my brand is going in and is a reflection of my designer!


I sat in Bonnington for ages, racking my brain thinking of where I could go with my brand and what narrative I could take it in. It wasn't until one of my friends, who also does fashion design, told me that she's in the studio and I should just go and talk to her, get to know her from a more personal stand point. So that's what I did. I asked her why she started designing and she told me her granny taught her to sew when she was very young and she even made skirt when she was 10 years old! She also told me that she was very close with her granny and mum and that they have been quite influential to her. That was the lightbulb moment, I would create a story based around how she has been surrounded by strong women who have given her all the necessary skills in life to be independent and her granny teaching her to sew is what made her want to follow the career path of fashion design in the first place.


Although I have been going back and forth texting Emily, asking for more details around her collection, speaking to her in person is what has really kick started the direction I would like to take this brand, and I will bare this in mind as I continue the development of Moody.
