Putting up Posters and bad luck getting sponsors!

Writer: Helena EvisonHelena Evison

Today was a busy day of event prepping. Dom, Rose and I first port of call was to put up the posters that they both designed.

We went round both Bonnington and Barnes Wallis working out where would be the most eye catching places to make sure we get as many people noticing the posters possible!

My next job was finding sponsors. Although it was planned to do it with Eleana, Uchenna and Jordan, they were a no show. I walked through town for three hours going to various businesses such as Coookie Shack, Penny Lane, Fox Cafe, Wired cafe, hairdressers, T4 to name a few. Unfortunately most places weren't willing to immediately donate to our fundraiser page but I did some emails to contact their managers, which I did this evening. However I did manage to get two goodie bas from Rough Trade which we will use in the raffle. In the bags were lots of cool things like books, cd's, posters and even tickets to on the gigs they hold there!

I'm disappointed I wasn't able to get more sponsors straight away, however I feel going around town talking to different people on my own has been good for confidence.
