Trend research scale-up

Writer: Helena EvisonHelena Evison

One of the most important parts in brand development is utilising the most revenant trends. Not only should they be extremely current they should also align to brands values and identity.

Within our scale up today we explored the various elements which are involved in the trend process - Scan, Analyse and Apply. This was helpful to understand how to implement relevant trends into my brand development and how to identify them.

We also learnt about the purpose of Evidence walls - which help visualise, analyse and assess different trends and their wider implications.

I also intend to create cartograms for my different trends to help identify the innovators, drivers, impact, consequences and future of my chosen trends.

One of the main takings I got from this scale-up was learning that we now have full access to trend source, LS:N. Having looked on their website I feel this be extremely helpful in identifying macro and micro trends as they appear to present them logically and clearly and identify the innovators, drivers, impact, consequences and future of all the trends.
